Hey stranger! Before we get this party started, I should introduce myself. My name is Anila, I live in Toronto, ON and I'm a Paralegal.
Like so many others before me, I chose a very practical profession to pursue; regulated, steady and a guaranteed source of income. I enjoy my job and my co-workers are lovely people but the bitter truth is that I have always been someone that craved a career in the realm of creativity. If I could have bravely picked my career without fear of failure, it would have been within the TV/Film/Theatre industry doing set production, cinematography/photography and special effects.
In 2017 I bought my first DSLR camera and fell back in love with photography. For so many years I admired the work of others, feeling a sense of awe at their heroism to take such a risk in order to follow their passion. I always had so many ideas about how I would set up shots or which colours I would highlight; I just never found the courage to pick up a camera. That has all changed now and this space had become my home; a creative outlet where I can feel like the pieces of myself that didn’t make sense before, can now grow without fear of failure or judgement. It is my ‘creative space’. Please feel free to comment on anything you see here. I welcome constructive criticism that will push me to be a better photographer!
