Hello there!
When was the last time you had a girls/bros weekend? Can’t remember? Fret not! I’m sure you’re not the only one who has been keeping their head down and just trying to get through that work grind.
I was fortunate enough to enjoy a quick girl’s trip during the first weekend in July. Where you may ask? Why none other than Prince Edward County (about 3 hours north of Toronto). It would have been easy for my friend and I to put pressure on ourselves and chip away from our precious 15 days per year vacation time, hop a flight to Mexico, and enjoy some fun in the sun. However, we really wanted to make the most of the little time we had off! Additionally, I made it one of my goals this year to experience more road trips.

To put it simply, PEC was lovely. Two full days exploring this little slice of Ontario wineries, breweries, cideries and eateries. It was the perfect balance of relaxing yet eventful and jam packed. This small town has much to offer and felt like a mini getaway to the lavender fields of the French country side. I honestly can’t wait to go back and to also have more local adventures with Jess. She was such a great road trip buddy and the whole experience really got me thinking…

Sometimes, the wonderful world of social media can make our adventures feel inadequate. Unless you’re able to post about your week long get away soaking up the sunsets in Greece or hiking up a mountain in Machu Picchu, it can sometimes feel like that quick local weekend getaway just isn’t good enough. DON’T FALL INTO THIS TRAP!!! Have any and all the adventures, support your local economy and get to know all the hidden gems that are right in your back yard. You may even learn about your local history and meet some wonderful people. One thing is for sure, I can promise that you will have a blast every step of the way!
Until the next adventure,
Anila xo
